The car has been taken in for it's annual service.
Reed bed along the brook in Gheluvelt Park.
Things are getting autumnal.
The swans are by the jetty this morning.
Carol is feeding them.
No need for us to feed you yet then?
Oh no, we want feeding.
No-one's fed us for weeks. Honest.
Group shot.
Mallards paddling across the river.
We haven't been fed for ages. Honest.
Kingfisher dives into the water.......
.......and flies back up.
Not great photos but you get the gist.
We're walking down the river on a mission to spot
other fish-eating birds.
The sky above Worcester.
Flowers hanging on.
Keep 'em peeled Vicky.
No sign of a heron or any cormorants today.
Reflections.
Cygnet preening makes ripples.
We're back at the jetty again now.
Siblings preening.
The right profile.
Oh-oh. Things are about to kick off.
'Our swans' have spotted another swan
family coming down the river.
How many generations of kingfisher have we
seen using this dead tree as a handy perch since
we moved here 15 years ago?
Dunno, must be several.
Back at the jetty, the cygnets copy their parent's countenance
and take aim at the intruders.
The intruders make it past in one piece but it's a
close run thing.
Of course, if the proposed foot/cycle bridge between
the Park and Hallow goes ahead (which, as is the way
of the world, it will) all this natural habitat will be lost.
So enjoy it while you can.
Collecting the car after it's service.
