Swans, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 29th May, 2019.

Vicky is pleased to report that all are doing well.
Note Dad is busy chasing mallards off.
He does a lot of that.
Happy family shot.
Aerial shot of the cygnets.
Ground shot of the cygnets.
I'm ready for me close up me.

Doing our citizens duty, Worcester: Thursday, 23rd May, 2019.

People have fought for the right to vote.
Use that right.

Swans Progress Report, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 22nd May, 2019.

Shame to report that the swans have lost
a cygnet in the time we have been away.
Just four remain now.
Seem to be doing well tho'.
The moor hens have a chick now.
How long will that one live?
 Nature can be cruel.

Perth to Northallerton: Sunday, 19th May, 2019.

Driving south over The Firth of Forth and around Edinburgh.
Splendid photo of The Forth Bridge.
Brunch stop at Carfraemill Restaurant, nr Lauder.
At least it doesn't say Eng-er-land.
We should be grateful for small mercies.
Looking north into Scotland from its border with England.
Driving south along the empty roads of Northumberland.

Portree to Perth: Saturday, 18th May, 2019.

Another early morning in Portree but this time it's raining.
A local has come 'round to wave us off (possibly).
A final view of Portree harbour from 'Canopy'.
Hill tops disappearing under rain clouds as we
drive down to The Skye Bridge on the A87.
Eilean Donan Castle, Kyle of Lochash.
Vegetarians look away now.
When in Scotland it is easy for the weak-willed
to succumb to one of Big Jocks Big Scottish Big Breakfasts
such as this one served up at Darwin's Rest Cafe
in Garve, Ross-shire.
That breakfast is going to hang heavily in your
tummy as you sit and drive, isn't it David.
Pitlochry, Perthshire.
A chance for a cup of tea and a little walk before heading on to Perth.
We hoped to take some more photos as we travelled
through The Grampians but the rain got
heavier and heavier and obscured the landscape with clouds.
Oh well.

Last day in Portree (sob): Friday, 17th May, 2019.

7:00am:
View from our bedroom window over Rob's boat and Raasay.
Looking south from The Lump with the Cuillin Hills in the far distance.
Our house 'Canopy' is the second white house from the shore.
Walking around The Meall walk on The Mound.
Hazy sunshine over Portree.
Sun's out, caps on.
Bluebells and Vicky.
David and Howard at Portree's war memorial.
A nice soft perch for Vicky on The Point.
Inviting, but freezing (we imagine).
Taking it all in.
Vicky taking it all in.
This is about as close to Raasay you
can get without catching the ferry.
The walk rises up to the foot of the highest hill above.
We may be daft but we're not stupid.
We're heading back along the coastal path to Portree.
Boats of all shapes and sizes.
Standing on Skye with Black Rock, Raasay
and Skye's Cuillin Hills in the background.
We could be stood in worse places.
Splendid rhododendrons.
Bostin'.
Rob's boat and Raasay in the last of the day's sunlight.

Minginish and the Cuillin Hills, Isle of Skye: Thursday, 16th May, 2019.

Raasay and Rob's boat, very early morning.
Always reassuring to know that they're still there.
Heading for the Cuillin Hills along yet another
of Skye's minor roads with passing places.
The view up the path to the Fairy Pools from the car park.
Gorra keep yer fluids up.
The top of the climb doesn't appear to be getting any closer Vic.
The further we walk the warmer we get.
I've found a Fairy Pool Vic.
I can categorically deny that I am flagging.
Lots of waterfalls up here.
Contemplating a Fairy Pool.
People do swim in these pools but
there are no photos of this behaviour on our blog.
No need to encourage them.
One of our four legged friends enjoying a Fairy Pool.
Pools and waterfalls.
All in one photo.
Trepidatious!
We are in Glen Brittle now.
Howard doesn't have a sun cap.
Good job, 'cos it hasn't been very sunny today.
Glen Brittle beach.
We've seen better.
View of Raasay from Portree's Aros Centre.
