BRITCAR, Silverstone, Saturday 24th March, 2012.

Guess who's taking another jaunty-angle shot of a Ferrari?
There's a new car on the block aiming to be the latest apple of Vicky's eye. Yep, it's a Nissan GTR in black (of course). Note jilted Ferrari sulking in the background.
Right Vic. Quickly undo that bit and untwist that bit. I'll pull out that bit and yank out that other bit. Lift it out. Swap it for the 1.6 Auto in ours and we'll get the hell out of here. No-one will ever know. Perfect.
Very nice Mosler probably won. We're not sure, we didn't stay 'til the end. Go on forever, these endurance races.
T-shirt weather in March, and at Silverstone? It's lunacy! 20 degrees, no breeze and no humidity. Perfect. Won't be this good come the summer.

One last cup of tea to wash down our corned beef rolls before the drive back home.

Sunday, 11th February, 2012.

It's the start of another motorsport season this weekend, with several 'bike (and one car) clubs holding events around the country, so what better way to celebrate, on an unseasonable weekend of rather splendid weather, than to venture into the arctic wastes (aka our living room) to create a new Barbourne GP Circuit. With a new hairpin bend recently purchased we've now got a track with fast bits, nadgy bits and, best of all, elevation changes. Frustratingly, one half straight and two curves remain unused.
CD Rack Hill, Steps Bend, and Sash Window Hill. Note cunning use of Travel Literature Collection. Never throw anything away, that's what we say, you never know when things might come in handy.
Severe armco damage at TV Table Hairpin illustrates shocking driving by the Peugeot (boo!) team driver (you know who you are).
A man re-creating a mis-spent youth (childhood?) on a lazy Sunday. Note colour of ankles. When did they last see proper sunshine? With our summers we're guessing 2005. Photo shows Settee Bend, the Start/Finish Straight, and Phone Table Bend. Good eh?
It's a double-off! Hard working Ray Smarshal at TV Table Hairpin.

Right, best get changed and go for a walk now. It's, gulp, 17 degrees outside! It won't last.

Crufts, NEC, Saturday, 10th March 2012.

So, what did we do this year at Crufts? Firstly, after a half-mile walk from the car park, we stopped off at Vicky's work colleague Louise's Jessie Jump Agility Stand to thank her for the tickets and watch the money rolling in!
Needing a rest, we next took a seat at the adjacent ring which was the scene of an obedience trial for bitches. It was just like watching dogs being obedient for minutes on end. Which one would crack first? Answer: none of them.
Next up, it was the long walk from Hall 5 to the Arena, via a visit to the Pasty Stall for some, you know, sustenance, and a cup of tea for energy. Along the way we noted that some dogs have more hair than others.
On our way to the Arena Vicky made friends with someone who's 'not normally allowed up on the furniture at home.'
Finally, having enjoyed 'The Cruft's Factor', 'The Heel Work to Music', and 'The Agility International Finals', we wandered back through the show, via the Pie and Mash (with peas and gravy) Stall, and noted that some pampered pooches don't even have to venture outside for their walkies.
