Swans out in Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Thursday, 26th September, 2019.

Not seen the swans away from the pond before this year.
Not sure how they get out.
Might fly but surely they would need more room for a take off?
It's a mystery.
How to attract a crowd.
Mother and two cygnets.
The third cygnet is still on the pond.
Hasn't worked out how to get over/thru' the railings.

Tuesday 24 September 2019

It's (been) raining men, Worcester: Tuesday, 24th September, 2019.

11:30-ish:
It's been tipping it down all morning so
we've stayed in to do some housework.
Taking the rubbish out is not as easy as usual.
You can try to stay out of the 'lake' but in the
end you simply say 'stuff it' and walk thru' it.
That's one big puddle.
C'mon Vic, you can do it.
4:00pm-ish:
The pond in the park is swollen but
at least the sun's out once more.
Incredibly humid tho'.

Healthy Monday evening meal, Worcester: 23rd September, 2019.

Blurred cutlery.
That's a sign of a good meal.

Sunday 22 September 2019

Autumn Speed Finale, Shelsley Walsh: Saturday, 21st September, 2019.

It's 11:45-ish and the moon's out.
Buzzard watching.
Five circulating above the woods on the hillside.
Right, we better go and watch the hill climb.
Trish Cecile-Pritchard - Austin Healey 3000 Mk 1 -
just past The Crossing.
Phil Gardner - 1310cc Austin Healey Sebring Sprint -
heads for The Bottom 'S'.
A litter bin and some spectators enthralled by Jane Millward -
1680cc Lotus Elan S3 - almost at The Bottom 'S'.
June Matty - 1558cc Lotus 69 F3 -
at the Bottom 'S'.
Our car of the day!
It's a trick Ford Anglia but as it's not in the
programme we can't tell you much about it.
However, as it is now lunch time we will walk back
down to the car for some sammidges and
then head down to The Paddock….
……where we can take more photos of it from various angles…..
………this is the boot (no room for any luggage)……
……..and under the bonnet.
Good innit. Like a 1970's Super Saloon.
(Extra points if you can spot Vicky).
If it wasn't for the Ford Anglia this 5000cc
Ford Hot Rod would be our car of the day.
Some smooth flowing lines for your delectation.
The afternoon is up and running after the lunch break.
Tim Richardson - 1800S Lotus Elise 250 Cup -
leaves the start line.
We're off back up the hill again now.
Thank goodness we're back in the shade.
It's a really warm day now.
Chris Green - 1598cc OMS 28 - at The Crossing.
At the Bottom 'S' and Howard is worn
out by all the photos he's taken.
He needs a cuppa tea Vic.
And he needs a smaller camera.
Vicky gets the teas in.
Chaps to her left were hoping for a burger and
chips but have to make do with tea and cake.
It's a tough life at a hill climb.
Howard takes another shot of the happy couple.
Lindsay Summers - 2500cc DJ Firestorm -
at The Top 'S'.
Richard George - 1975cc Chevron B19 -
exits The Top 'S'.
We're heading back down the hill for the final time as
Carole Nicholls - 1600cc Nike FF - heads up it.
Walking out from under the shade and
back into the warm (hot) sunshine.
It's gone 4 o'clock and we're finishing our day at Kennel Bend.
Charlie Delahunty - 1600cc Mazda MX5 -
on the way in…….
….and on the way out.
Off home now.
Only one question remains:
will this be our last event of the year?
Hmmmmm……..

Blog update:

Car 74, according to the event results,
is a 2200ccT Ford Anglia Spaceframe
and the driver is Steve Barnard.
Doesn't tell us a lot but
it tells us something.

M & S, Worcester: Thursday, 19th September, 2019.

Christmas card display?
It's not even the end of September.
We are outraged.
Our rage has never been so out.

Wednesday 18 September 2019

Ravenmeadow Golf Centre, Worcester: Wednesday, 18th September, 2019.

That's it. Straight down the middle Vic.
Stand over there Dave.
OK Vic.
Deadly from two feet.
Olde fella giddy with excitement.
Ooh. That one's gonna slide past.
He might be olde but he's still strong
enough to support a whole elephant.
Somebody who thinks he knows what he's doing.

Tuesday 17 September 2019

Kingstanding, Birmingham: Tuesday, 17th September, 2019.

We're visiting Auntie Jeanne in her new care home
and Vicky's brought with her a load of things
with which Auntie Jeanne can entertain her visitors.
Here Auntie Jean is telling Vicky that if this is the sort of visitor she'll
be expected to entertain in the future then Vicky
can take everything straight back to where she got it from.
Vicky and Auntie Jeanne having a laugh at the
bloke behind the camera.
A typical visit then.

Monday 16 September 2019

Boldmere, Birmingham: Sunday, 15th September, 2019.

With Auntie Louise and ready for some lunch
(washed down with a cuppa tea, obviously).

Thursday 12 September 2019

Up The Malverns (with Roger): Thursday, 12th September, 2019.

11:15-ish:
View to the east………
…..and the view to the north.
Quite breezy and cloudy this morning but still good
to walk up to The Beacon for the first time in a while.

Wednesday 11 September 2019

Kingfisher and cygnets, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 11th September, 2019.

3:15-ish.
It's quiet in the park. The kids are still at school.
A kingfisher is in the park.
Funny that.
4:30-ish.
The wildfowl whisperer soon attracts some interest.
The cygnets are becoming evermore independent.
The third one (the oldest?) has just flown the length of the pond.
They'll be removed and put with the main
flock down by The Cathedral soon we think.
