Swanning around on The River Severn and in Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 10th June, 2020.

Standing on 'The Wall' above the river we spot
three cygnets emerging from under the trees on
the far bank.
Not a parent in sight.
Bet they are three of 'our' cygnets.
It's a long drop.
Cygnets are hungry and, luckily, we have
a fresh supply of swan food ordered on
line and which arrived yesterday.
The cygnets swimming down the river.
At this point Vicky 'phones the Wychbold
Swan Rescue-people to let them know that the
cygnets are on the river (yet again).
A lady nearby says that two other ladies
from the Worcester Swan Sanctuary
are on their way from the park with a
net to capture the cygnets and return them
to the park and the parents.
Vicky feeds the cygnets more swan food
to keep them near the jetty.
The two ladies arrive.
They have a net.
The ladies didn't use the net.
Two cygnets are now in the green bag but
the third one has escaped capture and the air is
filled with its distress calls.
Of course, when we get to the park the Mother and
the other four cygnets are on the brook.
David, go down that bank and feed the swans.
OK Vic.
The Father has disowned his entire undisciplined
family and is content to remain in the park.
Vicky feeds 'Dad' and the ducks.
Just after this we spot the two cygnet
capturers returning the two captured
cygnets to their family in the brook.
Then they announce that they are returning
to the river to capture the remaining cygnet.
Clearly, this saga is going to run and run.
We would like to know how it all turns out
but it is dinner time and we are hungry.
Hazlenut and chocolate chip biccies.
Evening meal:
Cheese and veg quiche, baked potatoes, tomatoes,
mushrooms, salad and the very important Branston Pickle.
