Pitchcroft & Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 15th August, 2018.

11:15-ish.
Vicky places her foot strategically to protect a caterpillar from the ravishes of cyclists and walkers.
We then take a few minutes to shepherd it back into the undergrowth.
No idea if it appreciated our efforts.
12:00-ish.
Vicky feeds swan food to the swans and ducks from Swan Bridge.
Now the cygnet is growing up so quickly and eating more, one bag goes in one feeding.

Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Tuesday, 14th August, 2018.

No, don't take a photo of me Mum, take one of me instead.
I'm getting very confident, me.
(Some might say too confident).

Kersey to Lavenham, Suffolk: Monday, 13th August, 2018.

10:30-ish.
At last.
The Kersey 'Honesty Shop' doesn't have a car parked in front of it
and we can take a shot of it from our car as we set off for Lavenham and then home.
11:00-ish.
Lavenham.
 Lavenham.
Lavenham.
Lavenham Guild Hall (on the right, we think).
Time for what is likely to be our last quality cuppa tea between here and home.
Inside the tea room.
11:45-ish.
Hovis is a somewhat iconic brand but we can't say we ever liked it.
Off home now.
Slightly better journey than the one on Friday.
4.5 hrs rather than 5.
So, better, but not by much.
Good job Suffolk was absolutely worth the effort.

Kersey to Flatford and back, Suffolk: Sunday, August 12th, 2018.

10:45-ish.
Flatford Mill with Willy Lott's House beyond.
Valley Farm.
Willy Lott's House.
The trees are in different places from when Constable painted this scene
for The Hay Wain which he finished in 1821.
Ah yes. The traditional selfie in front of Willy Lott's Cottage.
Well, why wouldn't you?
Bumble bee drinking nectar in the gardens of Flatford Mill.
Vicky: the sheep whisperer.
Sheep keeping their cool.
Back at Flatford Mill.
It's a bit busier now.
River Stour and The Flatford Granary.
River Stour in the other direction.
3:30-ish.
Back 'home' in Kersey and enjoying a cuppa tea in the Primrose Cottage garden.
5:15-ish.
On the way to The Bell Inn for a Sunday roast and
enjoying some interaction with a splendid local.
Old fella who's 65 today in his birthday T shirt.
Yes Vicky, I'm ready for my Sunday Roast.

The Kersey Copse and Tye Route Walk: Saturday afternoon, 11th August, 2018.

3:30-ish.
We've had a nice rest back in the cottage and have now
made our way to the start of our second walk of the day.
This walk has even more trees and bushes along the way than the last one.
Good. Plenty of shade.
An olde man and an even older oak tree.
A kestrel about to swoop down on some poor unfortunate.
We saw at least five kestrels above the fields here.
Never seen that many before in one place.
Circling the village of Kersey.
Always good to spot a bit of old agricultural machinery hanging about.
Time's getting on so we have cut the
walk short and are now back in Kersey.
The view of the main street.
Busy isn't it.
Bumble bee working hard above the river.
No wonder we are tired.
We've done just over 19k steps today. That's just over 9 miles.
Time for another lovely evening meal in The Bell Inn and then a good rest tonight.
Not getting any younger y'know.

The Kersey Upland Route Walk: Saturday morning, 11th August, 2018.

10:30-ish.
Pointing out the landmarks at the start of the walk.
Shade, Vic. Always important.
Boyhood memories recreated.
The barley looks much shorter nowadays.
Might be 'cos I'm taller now or it might be 'cos of the dry summer.
They've spelt it correctly again, Vic.
We've reached the furthest point on our morning walk.
Shade, Dave. Always important.
Curious cows follow us at a respectful distance……….
………..thankfully, there is always a fence between us.
Cows can be a bit intimidating y'know.
Howard and Vicky and some hay bales
(and another herd of cows to negotiate).
Another field, another stile.
Almost back to the village of Kersey.
Getting thirsty now despite drinking plenty of water.
Back in the village.
It definitely has its charms.
De-cow-patting our walking shoes.
1:10-ish.
In The Bell Inn for lunch.
Never have two cold drinks tasted so good.
