Vicky's been hard at work.
All presents ripped open and now listening to 'Play That Funky Music' by Wild Cherry on our fangled and new turntable-thingy. Great fun.
Rant warning!
You gotta laugh at the cheek of the music industry, haven't you?
They told us back in the day that Vinyl was crap and outmoded and we said 'naff off, we like it,
it sounds great and it's immersive'.
They didn't listen and eventually you couldn't find vinyl anywhere so we gave in and bought CD's.
Now we have all got used to CD's, and 'young people' are only downloading stuff for free, they are targeting gullable olde folk with vinyl releases that cost £30+ and telling us it's immersive.
They're clearly 'avin' a laugh.
However, at least we can now find a turntable to play all our old vinyls on once again.
The sound is very retro, by the way. Not unlike listening to Radio Luxembourg on a little transistor radio back in the late '60's.
Hmmm, methinks we need to buy a speaker/amp-thingy next.
But they are not slowly reeling us in (oh no).
Breakfast time!
Full English done in a healthier style than in the good olde daze.
Grilled mainly, but still lovely.
Note new birthday T shirt (one of several).
Out and about now on our usual constitutional route around the racecourse on a lovely summer's day and, yes, it's a Birthday selfie, complete with narrow boat moored up on the river.
Clever eh?
New birthday T shirt? Check.
New birthday shorts? Check.
New birthday hanky to stave off worst effects of hay fever? Check.
6:00pm and it's time for dinner. Yay!
Like breakfast, cooked in a healthier way. Boo!
Pork belly draft (one of my all-time favourites) with all the trimmings, but grilled, not cooked in the oven 'cos it is too hot today. 24 degrees? Anyone would think that it's summer.
I am relishing every mouthful 'cos it'll be back on the fish, veggos, and fruit from now 'til Christmas (unless we are going 'out' that is and, as luck would have it, we are going out on Saturday).
And finally:
Emlyn is feeling much better today.
Eating well again and purring for England.
He has got to go back to the Big House on Monday for another check up but, what ever you do, fer gawdsake, don't tell him.
