2) It's pissing down today (excuse the vernacular) so I need some entertainment for my walk. What better than some fungi spotting along the Severn.

3) Goodness knows what this is called but you wouldn't want it served up with yer 'full English'.

1) The leaves are now at that greeny-yellowy stage. One good blast of Easterly wind and they'll all be gone.

2) What manner of fungal lunacy is this? Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

Evesham Cats Protection, Sunday 31st October, 2010.

1) Aha! Ziggy Stardust, one presumes.

2) Elsie is still too old to be re-homed and only desires a shoulder to grip and purr on. Trouble is, there's pens to clean out. Something tells us Vicky may be a tad delayed.

3) Dashit! I need a longer run-up!

4) I know I said I was ready for my close up but this is ridiculous.

5) It's no good. I'm a gonna. You'll have to carry on without me.

6) The pens are all cleaned out but Elsie still needs a shoulder to purr on. Yes, even this one!

7) Some folk deserve a kip, they've just done a shift at the Cats Protection. Other folk don't, 'cos they haven't.

1) Howard missed out on our last walk along the canal. So he's making up for it today.

2) Female mallard enjoys a moment of respite prior to the arrival of the breeding season.

3) Vicky spots a buzzard circling overhead.

4) Vicky's dodgy knee got her up the olde stone steps OK but will it get her back down again? Interested buzzard circling overhead just out of shot (again).

Batsford Arboretum, Wednesday 20th October, 2010.

1) We're come here today in search of some of 'yer autumnals'.

4) A veritable carpet of 'autumnals': albeit 'fallen'.

5) Ruddy fungi-thingies. Growing at ground level. Forcing a bloke who's no longer young to bend down to take a photo. Oh, my poor back.

8) The rear of Batsford House from 'round behind the bins. You don't get to view the frontage unless you've had a Royal Invite or somesuch.
