Walk to and along the river, Wednesday, 30th September, 2020.

The swans are neither downstream or upstream.
Vicky shakes her proverbials.
It's about time someone fed us. We're starving.
Today's feeding frenzy.
Heron.
Two comorants about to dive.
A heron, two swans, two cormorants and two people.
Two kingfishers, sadly, just out of shot.
As above but without the people.
Loading a mobile crane onto a trailer.
It's a spectator sport.
Walking back home.

Walk to and along the river, Worcester: Tuesday, 29th September, 2020.

Rob the robin in the usual spot in the usual tree
doing the usual thing.
The swans are excited.
Folk are feeding them from the wall.
The swans are heading back to the jetty.
Looks like Carol is there with some food.
Vicky at the wall.
No kingfishers here right now.
But we get six sightings by the end of our walk.
So pretty good.
Vicky showers the swans with food pellets,
Carol takes photos.
Today's feeding frenzy.
Good weather brings the narrow boats out.
Heron giving the river a hard stare.
They give everything a hard stare.
Let's take a selfie with all the swans in the background.
Oh well, three cygnets and a tiny bit of an adult.
Not a complete disaster.
She's out and about again.

Big Shop, Droitwich, and walk to and along the river, Worcester: Monday, 28th September, 2020.

First port of call - the car wash.
Only the second time since March.
Wiping the trolley down.
Get outta the way David. I'm going in.
Swan family present and correct in Vines Park.
Vicky's much happier this week.
Must have gone better today then.
He she is. Our friendly local.
She's an English short hair
but we don't know her name yet.
Neighbouring Bengal ready for a profile shot.......
........and an inquisitive close-up.
River rescue-folk busy with rescueing that boat.
'ave it!
Looks like they have finished the rescue-job.
Two dogs, one pair of legs.
This is Marlow, Jan's six week old Cocker Spaniel.
Just the one cygnet with the parents today.
Rescued!
Gone up and own the river and we are now back at the wall.
Vicky shakes her proverbials. Swans paddle up stream.
Didn't see the other four cygnets anywhere today.
No kingfishers either. Boo!

Monday, 28 September 2020

Walk to and along the river, Worcester: Sunday, 27th September, 2020.

The swans are downstream as per.
Hold on, is that boat moored up there sinking?
Yes it is. Wonder how that has happened.
Vicky shakes her proverbials.
Getting it down their necks.
Olde-fella made to pose for a photo on a lovely
day by the river.
No kingfishers today. Boo!
Olde-fella taking a photo of summat
only he thinks is interesting.
This is a mystery 'cos the river hasn't risen
(or fallen) by much in recent weeks.
Have the high winds caused it to 'topple'?
Has some river debris 'holed' the hull?
Dunno. Dunno. Dunno.
Been up the river and are on the way back home now.
Some cygnets are loitering with intent by the jetty.
Luckily, we still have some food pellets.
Feeding four cygnets.

Walking to and along the river, Worcester: Friday, 25th September, 2020.

Lovely way to start things off.
Swans are downstream as usual.
Vicky chucks pellets at passing rowers.
Pitchcroft walk.
Swans haven't moved far.
Can you spot the kingfisher?
It's about to dive down into the river, come back up with a fish,
eat the fish and then, along with another kingfisher,
fly off up the river until it is out of sight.
Two people who have just seen two kingfishers.
That's four sightings in total today.
