We've glimpsed a swan and cygnet upstream but no amount of shaking
can persuade them to turn around today.
Seconds later we see a kingfisher flying across the river and then fly
further upstream and out of sight.
We also see, as we walk along Pitchcroft, a Treecreeper, a few House Martins
(most have gone south now), a Buzzard, and a Cormorant, plus more common
species such as a Robin, Magpies, and numerous Pigeons.
