No way thru' Gheluvelt Park today.
All the gates are closed and locked.
The water on the footpath bridge is even higher than yesterday.
Even more water around Swan Bridge.
The Brook's waters have flooded the footpath,
the war memorial and the children's play area.
Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink.
The view across the rugby pitch and the race course
from Stephenson Road.
The Swan Theatre is under water.
How disappointing!
No cars left half-submerged in the car park to take photos of.
Perhaps people are learning at last.
Hmmmm, something tells us Severn Terrace might be under water.
Vicky ventures forth to investigate.
Yep, it's flooded and the flood debris line
suggests that it has peaked for now although
water is still flowing in from the racecourse.
Swans making use of an 'island' on the racecourse.
We've never seen so much water along Croft Road before.
Locals tell us this is the highest it's been since 2000.
We wont argue with 'em.
Water is up to The Hive.
Intrepid flood snapper keeping his feet dry.
Same place, different angle.
No buses in the bus station 'cos the bottom exit is flooded.
The Bridge Street Bridge arches show how high the river level is.
Again, can't say we've seen the river so high before.
Hylton Road is under water.
Suggests that the 'new' flood defences have failed.
Cripplegate Park doesn't normally have a pond.
New Road is closed to all pedestrians without wellies.
Cyclists are getting thru' and there are buses to transport
people across the river via The Bridge Street Bridge.
Where are all the swans Vic?
Brown's pump is working flat out
but the inside is still full of water.
Ideal for bathing.
Pigeons are excited about something.
Old fella gets down to it.
Swans getting an official feed from the official feeders.
And some would say yer welcome to it
(but not us).
And finally, The River Severn steadily flows downstream
towards Upton, Tewksbury, and Gloucester.
