Croome Park (with Roger): Thursday, 29th August, 2019.

Heron.
Staring intently at the bushes.
What's it seen in there?
Funghi grow quickly thanks to some rain and sunshine.
There was none just here three days ago (according to Roger).

Post-Perdiswell Leisure Centre walk: Monday, 26th August, 2019.

Just finished an hour's keep fit at the leisure centre and now
we're gonna do a walk up the canal before the sun
comes thru' and it gets too warm.
Cunning.
The sun's starting to burn thru' the clouds
but, thankfully, the towpath is in the shade.
Blackpole Lock without David…..
…..and with.
We've crossed over the canal and are now walking back
to the leisure centre in the full burning sunshine.
Nice to have done 10k steps by the time we get back to the car.
Now for a relaxing afternoon of rest out of the sunshine.

Feeding The 5000 (again), Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Thursday, 22nd August, 2019.

Good news. The duckling is still going strong.
A swift visit to the Wildlife of The River Severn
photography exhibition at The Hive.
It's alright but how come it doesn't feature a shot of Terry The Terrapin?
Bit of an omission.
Back in Gheluvelt Park and another bag of swan food
is rapidly consumed by one and all.

Walk (with Roger) to Bevere Lock thwarted: Worcester, Wednesday, 21st August, 2019.

All going well in the warm sunshine.
Can't get any nearer to the lock than this due
to some sort of engineering works taking place.
No alternative footpath provided. Tut-tut.
Hmmm. These cattle were in the middle of the field on the way up the river.
Now, seeking shade, they have positioned themselves
under the trees and right up close to the gate.
Look. One of 'em is right up against the gate!
They are not going to move and we're not going to try to get them to.
We take a diversion to another gate and then have to negotiate an electric fence.
One of us gets a short sharp shock.
No, not me. T'was Roger.
Whose idea was this walk again?

Family feeding frenzy, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Friday, 16th August, 2019.

The swans can hear the opening of a fresh bag of
swan food from 50 metres away.
Humphrey receives swan feeding technique tips
from Grandad John and Auntie Vicky.
Humphrey now has some food in his hands….
…..and delivers it with sublime accuracy.
All swans and ducks equally satisfied.
A job well done young man.

66 + 1 day, Hatton Locks, Warwick: Tuesday, 13th August, 2019.

We've parked up and walked up to the
Tea Room which is just below the 'top' lock.
Food's quite good but we're more concerned with trying
to avoid the swarms of wasps that are circulating around here.
Makes for an interesting culinary experience.
Howard at the 'top' lock.
It's all down hill from now on.
It's a bit breezy but it gets less so as we walk down the locks.
We like a breeze - keeps the humidity in check.
Mallards and narrow boats.
A common theme on a walk such as this.
Making friends.
Everything you need to know.
Locks are wide enough for two boats at a time.
Looking down the locks towards Warwick.
Navigating companions.
Mallards chatting about narrow boats and stuff.
Not a selfie.
Mallards still chatting.
The distances between the locks are getting greater now.
We've walked down 18 of the 21 locks and are now
heading back up them to the top of the rise.
This cygnet, outside the Canal Trust offices,
is the only swan we saw all day.
Jane, one of Vicky's old work colleagues we have bumped into,
and an olde-fella wot dunno he's in the photo.
Shame ferrim.
Back at the Tea Room and the wasps are busier than ever.
We choose the Tea and cake 'inside' option.

Fit Bit stats:
12,554 steps (Vicky)
11,153 steps (David)
5.26 miles
2,382 cals burnt (over 3.5 cals by bedtime - a record)
14 stairs.

66 today, 66 today: Worcester: Monday, 12th August, 2019.

Started the day with our usual fitness session at
Perdiswell Leisure Centre (where roughly 50 folk sang Happy Birthday, bit embarrassing)
and now we're back home and recovered it's time to open some presents.
New Sony camera to replace the olde one and a live double Soundgarden CD
(you can never have enough Soundgarden).
A new T shirt.
Bought last weekend for a tenner at the
Donington Classic Bike Festival.
Needs ironing (and washing).
New Skechers slippers
(Vicky is a brand ambassador).
Sincere apologies to the internet for the appalling image.
A bit later and it's time for some Birthday Brunch.
Rolls with ham and cheese, croissant with jam,
washed down with orange juice, followed by fresh strawberries.
Had a rest, been out for a walk and done over 13k steps
(Vicky's done over 16k) and burnt almost 3.5k calories so,
in my opinion, I have earned my Birthday Roast Pork Belly Draft dinner.
Took over an hour to cook and less than five minutes to devour.
Vicky would like to make it clear that she had chicken.

CRMC Classic Bike Festival, Donington Park, Saturday, 4th August, 2019.

And some would say yer welcome to it!
Not us anymore.
Many improvements have been made by MSVR.
Still many more needed but it's getting there.
Some team members work harder than others.
Richard Levitt look away now.
Bits of engine lying strewn all over the ground.
Disgraceful!
Neat and tidy.
That's more like it.
Track action at Roberts Chicane.
The 'fine art' of marketing.
It's just a little tiny shop.
No caption required.
Another of Ryan's comes in to land.
Track action at Redgate.
Note rider on Honda CBX 1000-6.
If that's a standard frame he's a brave man.
I dunno why Vic, but I quite fancy a can of fizzy lager.
