WEC, Silverstone, Saturday, 11th April, 2015.

10:20-ish: inside of Brooklands corner and ready for the first Euro F3 race.
We arrived at 9:50 and parked up in a very busy car park. This meeting is getting more popular with every passing year. It was cloudy when we arrived and bitterly cold. The sun is out now but it is still a 'four layer day'!
Distance walked so far: 0.5 miles.
10:30-ish:
35 F3 cars out on track.
The meat in this particular sandwich is Sergio Sette Camara of Brazil.
11:00-ish:
We are now in the National Paddock and one of the many F3 non-finishers is brought back to the Scrutineering Bay.
Distance walked so far: 1.0 mile.
11:05-ish:
ELMS cars leave the pit lane for their qualifying session.
We'll see their race later so now's the time for us to get a cuppa tea in the Paddock Cafe.
11:45-ish:
Had tea, too hot to finish it all. Now on the outside of the track at the approach to Copse.
ELMS LMP2 Murphy Prototype hurtles past as we make our way to the National Pits Straight Grandstand for the WEC Qualifying.
12:15-ish:
Sat in the grandstand now as the best sounding WEC GT passes by
(Larbre Competition Chevrolet Corvette C7).
Distance walked so far: 2.0 miles.
12:40-ish:
'Silent assassin' Audi exits Woodcote.
12:50-ish:
Back at the inside of Copse and the F3 teams are ready to go out for their second race.
This is Callum Illott, by the way.
Distance walked so far: 2.5 miles.
The eyes have it:
Tatiana Calderon (COL).
13:00-ish: ELMS Pit Lane Walk.
Sir Chris Hoy, a fan, and Charlie Robertson (we think).
AF Corse drivers show off their cool shades to Vicky (well, two of 'em do).
Don't tell Bradley Smith, but this could be what he'll look like in about 35 years time.
Won't be so clever then will he.
Signing stuff is thirsty work.
Racing cars - being worked on.
13:50-ish:
We've had lunch in The Paddock Cafe and another well-earned cuppa tea.
Finished in time to see all the F3 cars come back to parc ferme after their second race and have followed the drivers to the weighing in-thingy.
Which one of these young-fella-me-laddoes will get into F1 (if any)?
Distance walked so far: 3.0 miles.
14:35-ish:
We're on our way to The Wing and are at The Loop.
The ELMS 4 Hour race has begun but some folk can't even get past the first corner on the first lap - the Safety Car is out already as this damaged car limps back to the Pits (he'll be popular).
15:00-ish.
Arrived at The Wing.
Nice car, shame about the van.
Distance walked so far: 3.5 miles.
15:15-ish:
Vicky refuses to walk another foot unless she gets another cuppa tea and who can blame her?
Distance walked so far: 3:75 miles.
15:30-ish:
Mute swan nesting in the rushes of the 'lake' behind The Vale Grandstand.
A bit noisy but a very safe place for raising a family.
15:45-ish.
ELMS action at the entry to Club.
'Ah look, it's time I was outta here.'
16:00-ish and back in The Wing again now for our annual Mark Webber sighting.
Distance walked so far: 4.0 miles.
'Yeh, I've got potatoes. I'll give you good price.'
16:30-ish.
Caught a shuttle bus (to save our legs) to get us to the outside of Club Corner.
Sir Chris Hoy is still hammering around.
Time for one more cuppa tea and then the long walk back to the car park which is even busier than when we arrived.
Total distance walked today: 4.5 miles (at least).
Departed circuit at 16:50.
