Bon Jovi, Ashton Gate, Bristol, Monday 27th June, 2011.
Our one and only photo of the gig taken by Vicky on our new mobile 'phone. David deleted all the shots on the Pentax thanks to pressing the 'dustbin' button twice by mistake whilst reviewing them the following morning when he was, and I quote, 'a bit tired'. Classic. As for the gig it was a goodun. Vicky gave it 8/10. David gave it 9/10. The Park and Ride got a solid 0/10.

Evesham Cats Protection, Sunday 12th June, 2011.
Silverstone Moto GP, Saturday 11th June, 2011.
1) Each year we come to the GP we ask ourselves 'will this be the last time we see Loris? He was supposed to retire at the end of last season yet here he still is. Will we see him next year?
2) Last time we saw Cal Crutchlow at Silverstone he was totally dominant in WSBK. This morning he one of the quickest in Moto GP Free Practice. What can possibly go wrong? Let's just say the stalls selling No 35 T shirts and flags will have a lot of unsold stock left when they go home and leave it at that.
3) You have to put a lot of leg work in at Silverstone to get the most out of it. We've left the new Startline Grandstand, walked into the middle and had some brunch at the Cafe in the old Paddock, chatted with some of the riders in the Triumph support race, walked under the tunnel at Copse and made our way to the Becketts Complex to watch the 125's. Taken about 90 mins at a nice-stroll. This is Jonas Folger on his Aprilia at Chapel in case you were wondering.
4) We're just past Stowe now. They said the Wing was finished but they lied. Look, they've added a strip of red trim to the roof since last week. They can't fool us (oh no).
5) Now we're at Club Corner and we've stumbled upon three stewards, five Smurfs, and a bloke with a mohican (amongst others). Where do they think they are, cowin' Glastonbury?
6) Yay! Scott Redding doing his best to make up for Cal's demise with a stirling second place in Moto 2 Qualifying. Certainly stirs the olde cockles.
7) Bradley Smith spent most of Qualifying in the pits trying to get his bike to go faster than he can run. He only managed two laps and finished up way down the grid. Not good. Still, they say it will rain tomorrow, so you never know, he might improve a bit.
8) Vicky and Howard are overwhelmed by the tension at the start of the Red Bull Rookies Cup race.
9) Red Bull Rookies Cup rider Aaron Espana (he's from Spain, spookily) is in the process of throwing his toys out of the pram after finding out that kerbs can be a tad slippy when wet. He's young and he'll learn. He did get a nice round of applause for his efforts.
We'll just watch the start of the Triumph race then nip off home 'cos we're not as young as we were and are a bit tired (well, we have been here seven and a half hours and walked three miles at least). Besides we have to get up early tomorrow for our monthly stint at the Cats Protection.

Silverstone Pt III, Saturday 4th June, 2011.
1) David is caught dreaming of the car he'd buy if we won the lottery (£80m this week). Something nicely understated like this Sumo Power tuned-up Nissan GTR in, but of course, BLACK.
2) The interior might well be in an appropriate Gold and Black (definitely not claret and blue) just like this Honda. Very classy.
3) The subtle paint job would be just like the one on the bonnet of this Lambo. Pimp my ride indeed.
4) Meanwhile, out on the track, there's some cars whizzing around. These are GT3's at Abbey from the 'new' grandstand on the inside of the corner. We say 'new' but really it's just one they've moved from somewhere else. Can't fool us, oh no.
Silverstone Pt II, Saturday 4th June, 2011.
Silverstone, Saturday 4th June, 2011.
1) A chance to see the new Silverstone Wing 'in action'. Vicky says it looks just like an Airport Terminal building from this side.
2) Yes, you guessed it. It's just like an Airport Terminal building from this side as well. We are left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. And there's no cafe for the general public. Tut and, indeed, tut.
