Something's telling us summer is finally over, Worcester: Thursday, 24th September, 2020.

Starting our morning walk with a
chat with a friendly local.
The swans are downstream and already getting a feed
by the look of things.
Seven well fed swans.
Hood is up. It's cold today.
Rain cloud over Worcester.
Yet it hardly rains, as it goes.
On the way back home now and the swans are so
full of swan food pellets that they can only float
commatose on the river.
These can do no better.
Robin in a hedge.
3:00pm and it's gone dark outside with rolling
almost constant thunder and hailstones rattling down.
Spiders are getting knocked off the window's and walls.
It's carnage.
That garden used to have a lawn.
Meanwhile Vicky's coming home from town.
Outside Wilco's......
.......walking past The Hive......
.......in the car park at home.....
........and crossing our front door mat.

Shopping, Blackpole, and The Tip, Perdiswell (am), and walk to The Doc's and back along the river (pm), Worcester: Wednesday, 23rd September, 2020.

It's raining. Great.
It's raining even harder 30 mins later.
The pleasure is ever-increasing.
I shall be getting at least two bags of shopping.
I needed one more bag.
It's a good job Howard and I know what
all these Vicky-gestures mean.
At the tip.
Always a pleasure.
Weather much better now, as is our mood.

Swans are upstream from the jetty.
Don't usually see them at all in the afternoon.
Two parents, two cygnets get the lions share......
......'cos the remaining three cygnets aren't exactly
in a hurry to get here.
Pesky seagulls getting in on the act.

Walk to the chemist via the river both ways, Worcester: Tuesday, 22nd September, 2020.

The swans are downstream by the jetty.
Better get down there then.
Today's feeding frenzy.
All swan feeders are relieved to see that two
passing swans are keeping well out of the way.
Hardly a classic photo but it will have to do.
Swans starting to move even further downstream now.
Friendly local purring loudly.

Tuesday, 22 September 2020

Big Shop, Droitwich, and a walk to the Post Office, Worcester: Monday, 21st September, 2020.

About to wipe the trolley clean.
Can't stop Dave, they're calling me in.
OK Vic, see you later.
Swan family present and correct in Vines Park.
Back at the car and very pleased
it's all over for another week.
Stamps Dave. Stamps.

Feeding the 5,000, Worcester: Sunday, 20th September, 2020.

Cygnets, having spotted Vicky, make a move.
'ave it!
Today's feeding frenzy.
Quite restrained actually.
Mallards arrive.
More mallards arrive.
Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Apple and almond cake.
Delicious and we should be able to make it last for a week.
Should.

Sunday, 20 September 2020

Just a short one today, Worcester: Saturday, 19th September, 2020.

A friendly local.
If he looks a bit guilty it's because we've caught him
terrorising a grey squirrel.
Stop rubbin' yer nose on our camera.
No way we'd let a squirrel-botherin'
wrap us 'round his paw. No way.
Where there's shade you've gorra stop and enjoy it.
Searching for swans but there aren't any.
Stand there and smile Vic.
OK Dave.
Sticklebacks.
Kingfishers would have a field day.
  Stickleback watcher watching sticklebacks.
We've gorra go back home now Vic.
OK Dave.
That's it. On the bonce. Just there.
