Busy, busy: Worcester, Monday, 14th March, 2016.

11:15-ish: walking into town along the river.
This boat is not gonna float in our opinion.
And so say all of us.
1:30-ish:
Having done some shopping and had something to eat in town we're heading back home now through Gheluvelt Park which is looking particularly splendid today.
2:35-ish:
Emlyn has been brought to 'The Big House' yet again for a check-up.
Olde-fella seemingly enjoying Emmy's predicament, unfortunately, in the shot.
Emlyn not ready for his close up.
For the record, he will have to continue on his pain relief for his arthritis, and he will now be starting on an extra course of tablets to provide some additional relief, whilst he may have to take some medication to aid his mental capacities.
He's not as young as he was!
Vicky says Emmy and Dave are two of a kind.
Thanks Vic.

Hill Top Farm, Warwickshire, Sunday, 13th March, 2016.

5:15pm.
Well fed and all talked out:
Caroline, Richard, and Vicky immerge into the cold late-afternoon sunlight.
Making friends with Zac.
David, moaning that he is cold and on Warfarin, happily, just out of the shot.

Clinging on to life, Worcester, Wednesday, 9th March, 2016.

Spotted this fella clinging to the outside window pane of our kitchen window yesterday evening.
Thought the rain would have washed him away by the morning but, no, he's moved a few inches but he is still with us.
The question remains: what's he doing out and about in this weather?
It's not as if we've had any warm weather lately.
Global warming and a mild winter?
Yep.
Gotta admire his tenacity, eh?

To Suckley and back, Worcestershire, Monday, 7th March, 2016.

Vicky and Howard parked up, hazards off.
Very irresponsible.
We blame the driver.
Oi! Gerroutavit!
I'm trying to take a photo.
Worcestershire.
Yesterday.
We thought there would be plenty of lambs to photograph at this time of the year but we were wrong.
We saw sheep but no lambs and, as we all know, sheep just aren't photogenic.
Parked up, hazards on.
Very responsible.
Well done the driver.
We have arrived at Holloways in Suckley and it's time for lunch (12:30-ish).
Minestrone soup and cobs for Vicky and Leek and Potato soup and cobs for David.
Very nice.
We like driving in our car.
Heading back home now.
Hurtling thru' Worcestershire for a rest back at base in preparation for a late afternoon walk.
5:30-ish and love's young dream is alive and well on the banks of The Mighty River Severn.

Sunday, 6 March 2016

Witton Cemetery, Saturday, 6th March, 2016.

Witton Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Birmingham (if not the world).
This is just one small quarter of it.
Unloading all the doings.

Friday, 4 March 2016

To the Cathedral and back, Worcester, Friday, 4th March, 2016.

As the redevelopment (i.e. demolition) of Lychgate Precinct continues apace, some clever scrote has thought it funny to deface a statue of the most legendary fan of The Mighty Wolves.
It's a disgrace, I tell you!
Lighting candles for Vicky's dad's birthday and for both our mothers for Mothers Day on Sunday.

Monday, 29 February 2016

A longer walk, Worcester, Sunday, 28th February, 2016.

3:00pm-ish.
We've walked into town and had a tea and cake (no cake for Vicky, it's Lent), to keep us energised
and now we've arrived at the Diglis Marina.
Bit chilly today. A touch of winter sunshine wouldn't be amiss. Dream on.
Howard. Out and, furthermore, about.
Another walk, another selfie.
See kids? Olde folks take selfies all the time.
Ergo sum, it cannot be 'cool' to take selfies.
So, stop taking 'em and, together, we can bring the whole Selfie Stick industry
(and Western Capitalism/Consumerism an' all, with a bit of luck) crashing down around our ears.
Got any bread?
Nope.
Well, bog off then.
(We're fluent in 'mute swan', oh yes).
Another old building being converted into apartments.
Dave. Go and stand by that lamp post.
OK Vic.
Vicky gazing up at a tall chimney.
'round the back by the bins view of The Cathedral.
Cathedral interior.
The great man was a fan of The Mighty Wolves when they were actually Mighty.
He used to cycle from Worcester to The Molineux every other Saturday to watch the great Rev Kenneth Hunt and 'the chaps' cruise to another supreme victory over The Great Combustables or The Old Etonians (or whatever those olde teams used to be called back then).
Proper football.
Every time we see these two trees we debate how olde they must be.
'Very', we'd say.
Back in town and it's time for another cuppa tea and a savoury scone.
I think you can guess who ate the majority of it.
Retracing our steps on the way home and the sun comes out at last.
Quick! Take a photo before it goes back in.
Where's the river gone?
First snowdrops of 'the Spring'.
We got home for 5 o'clock and walked 6.72 miles.
Lovely.
