Three swans, one Heron 

(taken yesterday pm).

We've got time to check up on 

the North Quay swan family.

Two of the cygnets are by the viaduct.

The Mum and the other two cygnets 

are further downstream.

Almost finished.

Just passed under Sabrina Bridge.

On Pitchcroft.

Are these the Gheluvelt swans?
Or are they another 'new' family.

Narrow boats.

The Gheluvelt swans have spotted 

the 'new' family downstream.

And they're off!

Two Gheluvelt cygnets have declared independence

 and are well-downstream of their parents.

Bright, sunny and warm but with a 

lovely fresh breeze upstream.

The other two cygnets are on the way The Jetty 

accompanied by an intruder.

Mum and Dad aren't going to put up with that.

These swans are caught between a rock and a hard place.

If they go upstream they'll get attacked by the

Gheluvelt swans.

If they go downstream they'll be chased-off by Angel Wing

and his partner.

Some of them are teenagers.

Some are older and have 

yet to find a partner.
