One, two, three, four, five, six!
The Prodigal cygnet has returned.
So, where was it yesterday?
They put us thru' the ringer.

Only one thing for it - feed 'em.

Vicky's lunch:
Chicken salad mayo, pitta.

Evening meal:
Sea bass, tender stem brocolli, green beans,
tomatoes, and new potatoes.
Followed by fresh pineapple.

Swans lose another cygnet, River Severn, Worcester: Thursday, 2nd July, 2020.

The swans are on the river but we can't see more than
five cygnets. Time to get closer.

As the ducks join the feeding frenzy it becomes clear that
the swans have lost another cygnet.
What horrors go on during the night?
Doesn't bear thinking about really.

Vicky's lunch:
Humous with crudites and toasted pitta.

Another kitchen cupboard gets the treatment.
Must be the last one, surely.

Evening meal in the wok.

Evening meal served up:
Chicken and veg stir fry with noodles and chow mein sauce.

Dessert:
Pineapple.

No hangers on today, River Severn, Worcester: Wednesday, 1st July, 2020.

Swan family are on the river today.

Both parents and six cygnets are all present and correct.

The ten-duck-family swoop in.
Funny how word gets around.

We need more swan pellets.

Evening meal:
Chicken and vegetable kebabs, wholegrain
basmati rice and salad.

And all of the above on a plate.

Big Shop, Droitwich and Blackpole: Tuesday, 30th June, 2020.

                                

                                                Drive was much better today.

                                    Took ten minutes less and there's no queue.

Wish me luck, I'm going in.

And no queue here either.
Blimey, we'll be home in time for lunch.

Fifteen ducks and two swans on the river.
All swan pellets consumed in two minutes.

Hot chicken salad with mushrooms, onions,
and balsamic vinegar.

Mother and six cygnets on The Brook…..

…..and the father has deigned to join them

(how long will that last?).

Evening meal:

Tuna linguini. 

No swans today, Worcester: Sunday, 28th June, 2020.

Brunch:

Scrambled egg, mushrooms, onions and 

baked beans on Granary toast.

The ducks are up the far end of the jetty.

A quick shake of the food container soon sorts that out.

The family appears to have gained a new member.

Unless we have been miscounting all these weeks.

Ah, the wicked temptations of a temptress with some hazelnuts.

Mmmmmm, yes, scrummylicious.

Evening meal:

Baked chicken slices, new potatoes, and vegetables.

Dessert:

Pineapple.

A cooler walk today, Worcester: Saturday, 27th June, 2020.

The ducks are on the other side of the river.

Time to give the food box a rattle and shake.

Yep, that'll do it.

The swan family is also on the river today.

Six cygnets have survived so far.

Evening meal:

Oven baked cod and chips, with peas, mushrooms, 

tomato, and salad.

Ice cream for afters.
