Carbis Bay to St Ives and back: Wednesday, 19th October, 2016.

10.30-ish:

We've had our breakfast and still feeling a bit knackered from yesterday's journey we set off for St Ives.

Within 100 yards we are revived and full of life.

Amazing what fresh clean air and the prospect of a good walk can do to one.

Making our way down to the beach.

Our destination: St Ives.

We love watching dogs enjoying a beach.

It's safe to say that the tide is out.

Sanderlings are fearless in St Ives.

As are noisy seagulls.

First cuppa tea since Carbis Bay and not a moment too soon.

Avoiding the crowds by exploring the 'back streets'.

Doubt if we'll be attending this school any time soon.

Another lovely beach, some blue sky and……..some diluted sunshine!

3.15-ish:

Heading back to Carbis Bay now and it's time for summat to eat at The Porthminster Beach Cafe.

Soaring buzzard is mobbed by crows.

Buzzard stoically ignores them.

Heading back along the coastal path to Carbis Bay.

Local train also heading for Carbis Bay.

This morning, we were so tired, we thought we'd be catching the train to get back.

But now, re-energised by our time in St Ives, we laugh at the thought of catching a train.

That's the power of nature, right there.

Some Fit Bit facts:

David: 15,098 (long strides) steps.

Vicky: 18,000 (short strides) steps.

David: 7.7 miles.

Vicky: 7.4 miles.

David: 60 stairs (thanks to the undulations of the coastal path).

Vicky: 183 active minutes (an under-calculation if you ask me).

7.00pm-ish:

Back in the hotel safe and sound and fully refreshed it's time for a light meal.

We have had a fantastic day.

Worcester to Carbis Bay, Cornwall: Tuesday, 18th October, 2016.

3:45-ish:

Great excitement, we have arrived at The Boskerris Hotel.

We've driven 245.6 miles in 4.5 hours, each driving for one hour at a time, 

with a 40 minute break and we're knackered.

We might be knackered from the journey but we're not too knackered to manage

 a traditional Cornish cream tea in the dining room.

The clotted cream is so soft! So smooth!

Cornish cream tea successfully decimated and about to be washed down with a cuppa tea.

Two crows watch over the Bay and tomorrow's route of our walk to St Ives along the coastal path.

Godrevy Lighthouse.

We'll have to go there at some point.

There are seals with pups in the bays along the headland, evidently.

Hill Top Farm, Fosse Way, Warks: Monday, 10th October, 2016.

12:30-ish.

The Farm's old working dog, Zak, is always around to welcome all visitors 

as soon as they set foot out of the car.

A very lovely old chap he is an' all.

And still a working dog on his good days.

3:15-ish.

We've had a two course lunch with John and Glenys and, whilst they are in the shop, we take the chance to meet up with Zak again.

He's got a large stone in his gob and wants us to throw it for him to chase.

Unfortunately, he wont drop it.

So we fuss him instead.

A sky of two halves.

Zak has still got a tight grip on his stone.

We've gorra go now mate.

Pat & Graham's 50th Wedding Anniversary: Appleby Inn, Appleby Parva, Sunday, 9th October, 2016.

11:25-ish.
A lovely walk along the river in to town today to meet Vicky in Elgar's at midday.
It's sunny and warm yet nice and fresh.
Good job 'cos I'm running late and I can walk quicker in these non-humid conditions.

Not many walkers about today.
Must keep focus, can't afford to get distracted by the beauty of the natural surroundings.
