Monday 20 September, 2010.

1) It's a cowin' shame fer 'im. Emlyn has just got back from the vets and has still got a dose of 'the grogglies' on account of having had a general anaesthetic and 8 (count 'em) teeth removed. The vet said Emlyn had probably been in a car accident at some point as some of his teeth were broken. As for his ponky breath? That should be cured as well. Goodness knows what was living in there. Not sure he has forgiven us yet. Worse still, he's got to go back in a week's time 'cos the vets says his ears are in 'a terrible state'. Blige. Still, hopefully, we're getting there.

Evesham Cat's Protection, Sunday 12th September, 2010.

1) This one ought to get re-homed pretty quickly you'd think. But it has been here for a while on account of it still being on the 'sick list'.

2) Bloomin' youngsters. Always jiggin' about. Can't keep still for more than a second at a time. I dunno.
3) These 'Dave Vanians' must have a breed name. Wonder what it is.

4) Last time we were here this pen was Emlyn's home. Spookily, this time it is home to another mackerel tabby.

5) Back home and it's time to recover from a long day at Silverstone and a hard morning at the Cat's Protection. Emlyn, for his part, takes it all in his stride.

1000km of Silverstone, Saturday 11th September, 2010.

1) Just so you know we are where we say we are.

2) The Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP of Anthony Davidson and Nicolas Minassian whines though Abbey. Nothing like that Peugeot 309 Diesel I had many years ago.
3) Fastest car was the Audi R15 TDi of Tom Kristenssen and Alan McNish. Doesn't mean to say it will win tho'.

4) Lola Aston Martin of Adrian Fernandez and Harold Primat.
5) The Ginatta-Zytek 09S of the Mansell Brothers (5) slides it up the inside of the Formula Le Mans Oreca 09 of Jody Firth and Warren Hughes.

6) Vicky is forced to admit that not every cool Ferrari comes in red.

7) When a set of tyres cost £1400 it's no wonder teams do this to get every possible lap out of them.

8) Don't put this one on the left side fergawdsake.

9) Howard the team mechanic.

10) Le pilote (we'll look him up in due course).

11) Nicolas Prost. Son of his father and no mistake.

12) What those competing in Radical Masters have for breakfast, evidently.

13) Diversify or die.

14) I had one of these in Solido. The ex-Ickx and Bell classic Le Mans racer.

15) The Saleen is our favourite GT1 car today. The fact that it is the only GT1 entered is nowt to do with it.

16) Audi leaving everything in its wake through Woodcote.

17) Extreme-tailgating comes to Silverstone (it's a bit like this on the M42 every weekday morning).

18) Team Peugeot in Parc Ferme.

19) Team Audi ditto.

20) Classic Endurance Cars dispute the best line through Luffield.

21) Stingray convoy is quick down the straights but hopeless around the corners. Twas forever thus.

22) Back at Abbey for the now traditional shot of new Pit Complex taking shape. The roof's on and there are some windows now.

23) Fire-fire. Burn-burn. Yeah cool. Huh-huh, huh-huh. The spirit of Beavis and Butthead is still alive and well in the Kersey household.

Sunday, 5 September 2010

Sunday, 5th September, 2010.

1) Vicky catches 'her boys' sulking in the living room just because the promised sunshine has failed to materialise.

2) If he so much as moves a muscle to change the channel to Moto GP I'll tear his 'cake-shelf' out. Emlyn's not for moving.

Stow on the Wold: Saturday, September 4th, 2010.

1) Stow. Our sort of town. One where the Food Police have had all their powers taken away.

2) Howard blends in.
3) Another day out, another bag purchase (but is it ergonomic?).

4) Howard's ready for another tea shop.

5) Every other place in Stow is a Tea Shop. Look! Here's another one and this one's got rock cake. Let's go in.

6) The church of this parish.

7)

8)

9) Yes, you can get tea here an' all!

Worcester Cathedral Tower: Monday 30th August, 2010.

1) The first 109 steps have been negotiated and we are now above the Vault which was constructed in 1376 (it says here).
2) I thought the first 109 steps were bad. The second 126 steps, within the tower itself, were even steeper and narrower. Luckily there's a one-way system so one can stop and catch one's breath. This is the view west over the cricket ground where Worcestershire are in the process of thrashing Hampshire in a 40-over match.
3) The view south along the Severn to the new footbridge we walked over the other weekend. See? We told you it wasn't 'just outside' the city centre.

4) Looking south-east over the Commandery with Fort Royal Park beyond.
5) The view north along the River, past the racecourse, and our walk home. No wonder we're so fit (cough, pant).

6) Vicky (look closely). Right, it's time to go back down. Can't be as bad as getting up here can it?

Saturday 28th August, 2010.

We've just received an official press statement from Team Emlyn. The gist of which is as follows: 'whilst acknowledging that Emlyn might have gained the odd pound or two since moving in with his new team members three weeks ago this is in no way due to the extra 'tit-bits' he may or may not have received at meal times. In any case, as any fule wot subscribes to Heat can confirm, the camera always adds a few pounds.'

Seems reasonable to us.
