The River Severn & City centre, Worcester: Thursday, 30th July, 2020.

Swans know the rattle of a swan food container
when they hear one.

All gone on a couple of minutes.

At the hairdressers.

Swans and bees, Pitchcroft and Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 29th July, 2020.

Swans are on the river today.....

......and they're hungry.

Bumble bees are still working hard to save our planet.......

........whilst people do their level best to destroy it.

Evening meal:
Chicken, mushroom, and onion
balsamic salad
(apologies if we have already featured this favourite).

Wednesday, 29 July 2020

Into town and back, Worcester: Tuesday, 28th July, 2020.

Masks on in town.

Masks off out of town.

Some familiar shapes ahead.

Dad's with them but there are only five cygnets.

The youngest cygnet (the one that gets bullied) is
safe on the far side of the river.

A quick shake of the swan food should do the trick.

The swan sanctuary says we should give the youngest
cygnet the most food, so that's what we do.

Big Shop, Droitwich, and Pitchcroft, Worcester: Monday, 27th July, 2020.

Here we go again.

Bit wet out there Vic?

Swans are on the river today.
No sign of Dad of course.

A slightly damp walk, Pitchcroft and Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Sunday, 26th July, 2020.

Narrow boats keeping an adequate social distance.

No sign of 'our' swans today.
These will be the lucky recipients then.

M & S hazlenut, you say?
Too good to store.
Keep 'em coming.

Sunday, 26 July 2020

River Severn and Blackpole: Saturday, 25th July, 2020.

Swans are on the river today with some ducks
(and seagulls, thankfully, just out of shot).

We need a few extras this week.

That's more than a 'few' Vic.

Saturday, 25 July 2020

The colour purple, Pitchcroft and Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Friday, 24th July, 2020.

Bumble bee on a thistle.

No sign of 'our' swans, so these are the
ones to benefit today.

Got any nuts?

M & S brazil nut to be precise.
That'll do.

Ducks get the remaining swan food.

Thistles without a bumble bee.

One day, all this will be gone, Worcester: 23rd July, 2020.

Swan family on the river once again.

Catapilla of some sort.

Boats on the river (and the swans, if you look carefully).

On the banks of The Brook.

Where The Brook flows out into the river.
How much of this environment/habitat will remain after
Worcester Council clear the area to construct a
foot/cycle bridge connecting Gheluvelt Park to
Hallow on the other side of the river?
Not much, we reckon.

Evening meal:
Sea Bass, new potatoes, beans and brocolli,
with tomatoes.

Dessert:
Fresh fruit, yoghurt, and nuts (and seeds for Vicky).

Thursday, 23 July 2020

Swans on the river again, Worcester: Wednesday, 22nd July, 2020.

Whole family respond to the shake of a container
full of swan food pellets.

The food's all gone in no time.

Wednesday, 22 July 2020

Big Shop (Droitwich and Blackpole), Swans (River Severn), and hair clipped, Tuesday, 21st July, 2020.

Baked yesterday evening:
Raspberry, blueberry and almond loaf.

Good drive here today.
No queue either.

I'm going in!

Swan family thriving in Vines Park.

Vicky emerges from the scrum inside the supermarket.

A bit of a queue here, but not much of a delay.

Vicky's been a while.
She had to go back in 'cos she had
forgotten our weekly peanut and
chocolate shopping treat.
Can't do without it.
Keeps us going 'til lunchtime.

No sign of the swans yesterday but they are on
the river today.
Better go and feed them then.

All six cygnets present and correct.

Let's take a selfie with the cygnets in the background.
That'll work.

Evening meal:
Grilled turkey steaks and mushrooms, with mixed
salad, new potatoes, and coleslaw.

Dessert:
strawberries.

Somebody's hair needs clipping.

All the paraphenalia.

The finished article.
