We like food (in case you didn't know), Worcester: Sunday, 31st May, 2020.

Breakfast.
Brunch (another of David's specialities):
Turkey bacon, mushroom & fried egg sammidge.
Vicky's verdict?
'Bl**dy lovely. Perfect for a once a month special treat'.
She would also like to mention that we were listening to
Uriah Heep 'Circle of Hands' at the time.
A reference to David's hand circling the sammidge?
A bumble bee on some flowers along Northwick Road.
First one seen this spring with its leg's covered in pollen.
Olde Classic Rawk fan enjoying some shade.
It's against his religion but he should wear white in this heat.
Vicky under some not-quite-Simpson's clouds.
On the way back home now. Good.
It's 25 degrees!
Just the job for when you get
back in from the heat outside.
One of Vicky's Honey Yoghurt & Raspberry ice lols.
Evening meal:
Chicken and brown rice salad, with garlic, pistachios,
apricots and dates.

Afternoon stroll, Worcester: Saturday, 30th May, 2020.

Yesterday's evening dinner:
Sirloin steak, mushrooms, tomato, peas and salad.
David cooked it thanks, as he always reminds Vicky,
to the experience he gained during the weeks
he worked part-time at The Berni Inn
(Chapel Street?) in Luton circa 1978.
We have had 16 types (not portions)
of fruit and veg so far today (29th May).
Vicky's let her standards drop - we usually have more.
Flowers but no bees.
They seem to only go for white flowers at the moment.
Must be summat to do with the nectar levels.
Look at all those fluffy white clouds.
We demand a totally blue sky.
Our rage is totally out.
Today's evening meal:
Grilled lemon chicken with saute potatoes,
pesto pasta salad, coleslaw and a mixed side salad.
One of Vicky's, obviously.
A swift trip to the Blackpole Sainsbury's
petrol station to fill up before
the petrol prices rise again.

Food and drink, Worcester: Friday, 29th May, 2020.

Another splendid action shot of our
not-quite-so-new Wok in action.
An evening meal of turkey stir fry on the go……
….and in bowls with some prawn crackers.
(You should read that book, by the way, it's good.)
Fruit and yoghurt for dessert.
A bee feasting and a bumble bee about to take off.
Shade and rehydration is of paramount
importance on a walk in this heat.

Thursday, 28 May 2020

Scran, swans, bees and steps, Worcester: Thursday, 28th May, 2020.

Fine action shot of our new wok in action cooking
yesterday evening's dinner.
Pesto pasta with pine nuts, vegetables and turkey.
As above but now in a bowl with greedy guts about
to conduct a demolition job.
Vicky's breakfast.
David's breakfast.
David in bed and about to eat his breakfast.
We thought at first that this was another sighting of
'our' swans. But this pair have eight cygnets not seven.
Howard out and about for the first time since all this
'lockdown' malarky began.
Interaction with a local.
Olde chap pestering the local bumble bees.
A pestered bumble bee.
Ladybird.
Old roses on an old wall.
Welcome oasis of shade.

Wednesday, 27 May 2020

'Lockdown' life, Worcester: Wednesday, 27th May, 2020.

Yesterday's evening dinner (David's):
Grilled turkey steaks, grilled mediterranean
vegetables and new potatoes.
Another winner.
Vicky's dinner:
as above but much smaller and without the potatoes.
First bumble bee of the day.
Today's ladybird (more conventional
than those spotted the other day).
Another bumble bee but a different type.
Not a bumble bee. Simply a bee.
Blimey, another sort of bumble bee.
Enjoying some welcome shade.

Tuesday, 26 May 2020

This week's 'big shop', Droitwich and Blackpole: Tuesday, 26th May, 2020.

Yesterday evening's 'summer weather' dinner:
Tuna crunch salad, with boiled potatoes,
sweetcorn and toasted pitta bread.
Scrummy.
More of a queue than last week.
We're blaming The Bank Holiday Monday effect.
The local car wash re-opened last week.
It's not too busy at the moment but it will be
once word gets around.
One freshly washed Seat Arona.
More of a queue here an' all.
Still no tins of ratatouille to be found anywhere.
Late afternoon outside the Barbourne Works.

Monday, 25 May 2020

'Lockdown' shenanigans, Worcester: Bank Holiday Monday, 25th May, 2020.

Last night's dinner:
Salmon roasted with courgettes, peppers and tomatoes,
served with wilted spinach, broccoli and new potatoes.
Very civilised. Very tasty.
Another walk, another bumble bee.
Victorian/Edwardian (not sure which) gate post,
Thorneloe Road.
Never mind the gatepost, house and tree.
Just look at that sky!
Not another kitchen cupboard to be cleaned out and tidied up.
How many of 'em have we got?
That's gorra be the last one, surely.
