Late-ish morning walk to the chemist and back home the long way 'round, Worcester: Thursday, 26th March, 2020.

Olde-fella leading the way.
Nobody about.
Good.
Almost deserted along the main road into town.
Again, good.
Hardly a car in the……..
……viaduct car park.
Walking back home along Pitchcroft,
however, was very busy.
Not many people/cyclists/runners seem to understand 'two metres'.
Will avoid using it from now on.

Shelves, Sainsbury's, Blackpole, Worcester (early PM): Tuesday, 23rd March, 2020.

Freezers almost stripped bare.
Household cleaning products.

Trying to keep our social distance, Worcester: Sunday, 22nd March, 2020.

Perdiswell Leisure Centre is now off-limits so we've bought
some weights for home-based fitness sessions.
Have you taken the photo Vic?
Yes Dave.
A thorn sat amongst some petals.
Much better without that olde-fella in it.
Off home now.
Crossing the road whenever others are approaching.
How come we're always the ones who cross the road?

Monday, 16 March 2020

Empty shelves, Sainsbury's, Blackpole, Worcester: Monday, 16th March, 2020.

No chicken………..
……….no eggs……….
………no pasta……..
……….no surface wipes……..
………and, of course, no loo rolls.
A nation in the grip of lunacy.

River Severn & Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Saturday, 14th March, 2020.

It's amazing what the Severn transports…….
……….down to Worcester.
The male swan has joined the female at the new nest site.

Swan's new nest site, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Friday, 13th March, 2020.

Given all the flooding in the park over the past few weeks
we can understand why the female swan has chosen to
build a nest on higher ground.
How secure this site will be remains to be seen.
We're keeping our fingers crossed.
Thanks to Vicky's incredibly long right arm
she can get the swan to eat right out of her hand.
The camera never lies an' all that.

What The Severn leaves behind, Worcester: Saturday, 7th March, 2020.

Don't think we'll be walking into town
along Pitchcroft for a while yet.

Monday, 2 March 2020

Severn rising (and more on the way), Worcester: Monday, 2nd March, 2020.

More water in Waterworks Road today.
Word on the street is that last weeks flood was the
highest since 1946.
Waterworks Road's houses are on the right.
You can see why the road floods.
Olde fella and an olde river.
The parks resident pair of swans are separated
by the fencing 'above' The Brook.
Vicky serves up swan food rations to both.

Severn dropping (for now), Worcester: Sunday, 1st March, 2020.

The footpath to 'The Wall' is no longer under water…..
….so we can take our traditional shots to the south……
……and to the north.
Still plenty of water in Waterworks Road.
Noisy cockerel making his presence felt.
Debris line at The Moors Playing Field shows
how far the flood has receded.
Moors Car Park resident has found a baguette
and he/she is not one for sharing.
Not as much water here either.
View from the main entrance of The Racecourse.
Only one pump required at Quay Street now.
The steps from The Cathedral grounds down to
the passageway to the quay.
The wall on the lefthand side of the passageway
is where the height of every major flood is recorded.
How will 2020 compare?
The view from The Cathedral grounds to the north.
The gates to the footpath over the quay remain closed and locked.
