Some of the wildlife seen on a walk, Worcester: Thursday, 27th June, 2019.

11:15.
Dodgy shot of a kingfisher under Tower Bridge, Gheluvelt Park.
14:10.
Young blackbird wishing it wasn't so hot.
It flew under the hedge eventually.
14:15.
Very dodgy shot of a butterfly trapped inside
the glass doors of The Barbourne Works.
Tall olde fella scooped it up gently and released it back outside.

Cygnets going strong, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Tuesday, 25th June, 2019.

Heads down, gobble it up.
Another £2 worth of swan food consumed in next to no time.
Don't worry, there are still 3 cygnets.
The third one is just out of shot chasing mallards for the hell of it.

Prescott Bike Fest: Sunday, 16th June, 2019.

Say no more.
I'm totally mesmerised by this array of splendid custom 'bikes Dave.
It's totally mesmerising in here Vic.
A big fat one.
A rat 'bike?
How very 1980's.
Very understated.
Howard in safe hands?
Shot from both sides.
Vicky's favourite 'bike
(until she spotted a black Triumph Daytona).
David's favourite 'bike.
Innovation for the sake of innovation?
15,000. 16,000. 17,000. Into second!
(it probably hasn't got any gears, but you get our drift).
Marshals know how to stay dry.
All sorts of 'bikes are tackling the hill today.
Top marks for style.
Nice touch of exhaust smoke.
It's June.
One minute it's raining and 16 degrees……….
……….the next the sun's out and it's 24 degrees.
David's second-favourite 'bike.
Splendid action shot of the heritage steam railway locomotive
from the Prescott car park as we are about to leave.

Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Friday, 14th June, 2019.

The Brook is overflowing.
Guess what? It's raining.
The Brook is overflowing Pt II.
Good news shock!
Those brown smudges in the centre of the photo
above are the Mallard and her three juveniles.
Great to find them still alive as we hadn't seen them for a few days.
River overflowing onto the park.
The Severn peaked in Shrewsbury earlier today
so it'll peak here tomorrow or the day after.
Despite the showers there are plenty of bees in the park.
Dad (look closely), Mum and two of the three cygnets.
Vicky taking the business of feeding the swans very seriously.
A squizznee.
Toddler about to chase it, thankfully, just out of shot.

Wednesday, 12 June 2019

Sorry, no good news today, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Wednesday, 12th June, 2019.

Just three 'ducklings' remain with the mother today.
We'd like to think that the other 6 have
matured and moved away but we doubt it.
The surviving three cygnets are all still going
strong - but we're taking nowt for granted.
I'll take that, thank you.
Mother gets the last of our daily ration of swan food.

Monday, 10 June 2019

Bad news and good, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Monday, 10th June, 2019.

Bad news:
Only nine 'ducklings' now.
Good news:
Three cygnets are still with us.

Sunday, 9 June 2019

Good news and bad, Gheluvelt Park, Worcester: Sunday, 9th June, 2019.

Good news:
Mother mallard and ten (count 'em) adolescents
(bit too big to be called ducklings) in the Brook
seem to be doing splendidly.
But where have they been up to now?
Bad news:
The swans have lost another cygnet.
Only three now.
Our money is on a fox.

Sunday, 2 June 2019

Cygnets, Gheluvelt Park: Sunday, 2 June, 2019.

Still four cygnets (you'll have to take our word for it).
Bigger than mallards now and quite prepared to bully any rivals for food.
