Autumnals: Worcester, Monday, 31st October, 2016.

11.30-ish:
The sun is breaking through and the mist over the racecourse begins to clear.
Everything is calmness personified down by the river.
Shadows.
Autumnal selfie.
12.15-ish:
The Hive and some autumnals.
1.45-ish:
Heading home through Britannia Square where they have the nicest houses and the nicest berries.
2.15-ish:
Blue skies above Gheluvelt Park and plenty of autumnals within.
Not quite autumnals yet.
Looking back through the park as we trudge home.
Vicky's got some work to do, David's got some housework to do (ironing on a Monday & Friday)
and then we shall take stock before the dreaded Halloween folk come a-knockin'.
Hopefully, the memory of these autumnals will help us retain our sanity
as we dole sweets out to all and sundry.

Clairvoyant Auntie Louise, Tamworth, Tuesday, 25th October, 2016.

We're in the M&S cafe in Tamworth and David and Howard are meeting Wolfie for the very first time.
Auntie Louise has knitted Wolfie in the hope that he will bring The Mighty Wolves some good luck.
He's got his work cut out.
By the time we get back home Wolves have sacked their Manager.
He was in the post for less than three months!
It's an ongoing saga.

Carbis Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse (and then home): Thursday, 20th October, 2016.

7.00am-ish:
We wake up and throw open the curtains.
Not bad, eh?
The colours in the sky are subtly changing over time.
Mother Nature is really putting on a show.
Salmon-pink clouds.
Or are they apricot or peach?
Or all three?
No caption required.
Where we're heading today: Godrevy Lighthouse.
10.00am-ish:
We've had breakfast and we've just got time to enjoy the view
from the hotel terrace one last time before checking out.
Howard is ready for the drive to the lighthouse.
11.15-ish:
We've arrived at the headland overlooking the lighthouse.
Never mind the lighthouse, there's a seal colony just a few yards to the east.
Vicky and the coast to the north-east.
Taking shots of the lighthouse.
Glad to say that the rain on the horizon never came any closer.
View of St Ives Bay to the south-west.
Enough of this. Let's get back to the seal colony.
A bright-orange cattapilla-thingy braves the footpath.
We guard it until it has wriggled across safely.
Seals and pups.
Vicky has no fear of heights. Unlike some.
We've spent the best part of 2 hours watching and listening to the seals.
Now it's time to check-out the beach.
Dogs love beaches.
We love watching dogs enjoying a beach.
Olde chap enjoying the beach.
A photographer taking a photo of another photographer taking a photo.
They said it would be no more than 13 degrees max all day.
The sun is strong and we're wearing too many layers.
It's 18 degrees at least!
Rollers rolling onto the beach.
Ideal for surfers and there are plenty of surfers surfing.
Unfortunately, they are about 500 yards further down the beach
and we have run out of time to take photos of them.
Well, they're not as interesting as seals are they.
People enjoying the beach with their dogs.
2.30-ish:
It's time to find somewhere to eat (Portreath) and then head for home.
Boo!

Carbis Bay to St Ives and back: Wednesday, 19th October, 2016.

10.30-ish:
We've had our breakfast and still feeling a bit knackered from yesterday's journey we set off for St Ives.
Within 100 yards we are revived and full of life.
Amazing what fresh clean air and the prospect of a good walk can do to one.
Making our way down to the beach.
Life's a beach.
Our destination: St Ives.
Dogs love beaches.
We love watching dogs enjoying a beach.
Walking along the coastal footpath to St Ives.
It's not exactly flat!
Fuchsias.
Still plenty of flowers in bloom down here.
Keeping an eye out for any pilchard shoals.
Getting ever-closer to St Ives.
Kite Fliers flying kites on a beach in St Ives.
aka 'The Life'.
It's safe to say that the tide is out.
Sanderlings are fearless in St Ives.
As are noisy seagulls.
1.00pm-ish.
First cuppa tea since Carbis Bay and not a moment too soon.
Avoiding the crowds by exploring the 'back streets'.
Doubt if we'll be attending this school any time soon.
Another lovely beach, some blue sky and……..some diluted sunshine!
Howard harbour-side.
What's Vicky seen in there?
Aha! Patterns.
And more on the harbour 'floor'.
Olde man with camera having a lovely time in St Ives.
One of Vicky's 'jaunty-angle' jobbies.
Harbour panorama.
Yay! More diluted sunshine!
Quick. Take another photo.
Howard with fellow crew members in the RNLI shop.
3.15-ish:
Heading back to Carbis Bay now and it's time for summat to eat at The Porthminster Beach Cafe.
Soaring buzzard is mobbed by crows.
Buzzard stoically ignores them.
Heading back along the coastal path to Carbis Bay.
Local train also heading for Carbis Bay.
This morning, we were so tired, we thought we'd be catching the train to get back.
But now, re-energised by our time in St Ives, we laugh at the thought of catching a train.
That's the power of nature, right there.

Some Fit Bit facts:
David: 15,098 (long strides) steps.
Vicky: 18,000 (short strides) steps.
David: 7.7 miles.
Vicky: 7.4 miles.
David: 60 stairs (thanks to the undulations of the coastal path).
Vicky: 183 active minutes (an under-calculation if you ask me).

7.00pm-ish:
Back in the hotel safe and sound and fully refreshed it's time for a light meal.
We have had a fantastic day.
Roll on tomorrow.
